The MERLOT Content Builder is a development system for creating instructional, websites. The Content Builder provides tools to developers to incorporate text, imported documents, photos, and video into their web pages. Typically created web page have a title box and a series of 3-6 boxes arrayed underneath, each of which describes or shows some other aspect of the website. There are options to link pages to other pages, to create collections of web pages, or combine several web pages to form a complete website, with a common navigation bar on all pages.
Content Builder supports Creative Commons and the IMS Common Cartridge format. Any web page or website can be downloaded in Common Cartridge and HTML formats.
When you login to MERLOT, you can access the Content Builder from the home page by selecting your name in the top right corner of the page and then Access the Content Builder option in the drop down. You can share your web pages directly with other MERLOT users by providing the pages’ specific URLs to others so they can access them.
On the Main page shown below, use the navigation menu on the left to move to a specific topic in the Content Builder at any time, or click Next above to move through each page of the guide.
