The MERLOT Africa Network (MAN)

 

MAN is a network of African higher education institutions and international organizations working collaboratively with MERLOT partner institutions to share open educational resources, to support faculty and students at Africa’s higher education institutions effective use of e-learning resources and to conduct research and scholarship on the best practices in the teaching and learning with electronic resource within Africa’s education environments and communities.

 
 
 
OER Africa

OER Africa is an initiative of the South African Institute for Distance Education. SAIDE and MERLOT will be working together to expand access and use of African authored open educational resources and leverage our communities to support the improvement of teaching and learning with technology

 
MEITAL
MEITAL is the Israeli Inter-University Center for e-Learning (IUCEL), which is part of the Israeli Inter-University Computation Center (IUCC). MEITAL assists Israeli institutions of higher education - universities and academic colleges - in advancing the use of e-learning technologies, and creates opportunities for connection and collaboration between them. MEITAL, on behalf of IUCC, ISOC-IL, and the Israeli Ministry of Education, has partnered with MERLOT to develop and maintain MAOR, the Israeli learning object meta-data repository.
 
GLOBE

GLOBE (Global Learning Objects Brokered Exchange) is a consortium of online services and tools that provide an integrated, worldwide search of learning objects. The consortium was formed to provide a distributed network of learning objects that meet quality standards. By sharing the resources through a federated search, strategic alliances and technical interfaces need only be made once, but all of GLOBE benefits from these partnerships. In addition to MERLOT, the GLOBE alliance includes the following digital libraries:

 
 
INACAP
INACAP is the Technological University of Chile, with 84.000 students on 25 campuses. In partnership with the California State University and MERLOT, INACAP students and teachers will be incorporating MERLOT across Chile, and the helping develop MERLOT across the Spanish-speaking community.
 

INCTR

INCTR is a non-profit international organization whose mission is to assist in controlling cancer in developing countries through the development of infrastructure for cancer treatment and research. INCTR emphasizes international collaboration and works to improve communication among the wide range of professionals and volunteers working to control cancer throughout the world. Because of its emphasis on communication and collaboration, INCTR recognizes the critical role for a range of e-learning tools and plans to constantly increase its use of web-based educational materials and the provision, electronically and in hard copy, of information relevant to cancer control. INCTR has partnered with MERLOT to develop and maintain the Open Educational Resources for Cancer (OERC) portal.
 
The University of Lucknow (India)
The University of Lucknow, California State University Long Beach, and MERLOT are collaborating to create and evaluate a pilot for developing Open Educational Resources (OER) as a means for efficiently transforming teacher preparation and faculty professional development within both locally- and globally-conditioned contexts.
